Kevin Chin, P.G.A.

I began to learn golf at 17 years old. Learning at that age has helped me understand how difficult learning golf as an adult can be, and also has given me a different perspective on learning.

Even though I had already played and been competent at other sports, golf was different. The time I invested in the game did not seem to pay off as much as in other sports. I was not improving, and I did not understand why. In my early 20s, I met Dave Stevenson and Mark Evershed. That is when my world flipped, and I went from a 12 handicap to a scratch golfer and earned my PGA card. Things finally began to make sense, and the game began to come to me. That journey has paid off in my teaching, and it wasn’t a straight or easy road. I’m not afraid to say it didn’t come naturally.

Senior Staff

Our senior staff include, but aren’t limited to P.G.A. apprentices coming from all over the country working towards their P.G.A. professional certifications, returning staff, experienced golfers and experience in education.

Sal Conte+

Sal is a junior at Bentley University, majoring in Finance with minors in Law and Business Administration. A proud alumnus of the Kevin Chin Golf Program, Sal brings both firsthand experience and a strong connection to the program’s teaching philosophy.

At Bentley, Sal serves on the executive boards of multiple student organizations and works as a Peer Leader for first-year students. In the Summer 2026, he will joined the Alliance Advisors as a Fund Solutions Intern.

Sal assists with day camp operations and private instruction, helping young golfers build confidence, learn proper fundamentals, and enjoy the game. He is thrilled to be teaching in the Kevin Chin Golf Program for his fourth consecutive year.

From GolfWorks to “It Works”

Some junior golf stories end with trophies. Some end with college golf, internships, first jobs, lifelong friendships, or a much better short game.

And every once in a while, one apparently ends in a love story.

Morgan Goodman and Richard “Richie” DiPasquale both came through Kevin Chin Golf as young students at Lake Isle Country Club. Morgan began learning with Kevin at age 11, while Richie started even earlier, at age 8. Both later worked in the program, became part of the MGA Foundation’s GOLFWORKS program, and helped teach the next generation of junior golfers.

Their paths eventually moved beyond Lake Isle, through college, work, and life after Eastchester. But years later, golf was still part of the thread connecting them. According to the Metropolitan Golf Association, Morgan and Richie reconnected after college, built careers, moved west, and continued creating memories together on and off the course.

It is a very Kevin Chin Golf kind of story: start with a junior lesson, add years of camps, staff shifts, GOLFWORKS summers, a few Lake Isle memories, and somehow end up with a match made somewhere between the driving range and the Metro-North platform.

Not every Kevin Chin Golf student meets their future partner here. That would be a lot to promise.

But the story of Morgan and Richie says something important about the program: this place has always been about more than golf. It is about confidence, community, responsibility, mentorship, friendship, and the kind of memories that stay with students long after they leave the first tee.

Justin Pitman

Avery Veitel

• Born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, Avery is a 2018 graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Marketing, a minor in Psychology, and a specialization in PGA Golf Management. Avery studied under industry-recognized instructors including Martin Chuck, Pia Nilsson, and Lynn Marriott.
• A P.G.A. Professional since 2019, Avery holds Titleist Performance Institute certifications in Golf Level 2, Power Level 2, and Junior Level 2, as well as SuperSpeed Level 1 and US Kids Golf Level 1 certifications.
• Avery has experience teaching using FlightScope and Blast Golf technology, as well as video platforms such as V1, CoachNow, and OnForm. Avery began as a Staff Instructor at Bear Creek Golf Complex in Chandler, Arizona, later became Lead Instructor at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Charleston, South Carolina, and accepted the Director of Instruction position at Ocotillo Golf Club in Summer 2023.

Richie began learning golf with Kevin Chin Golf at age 8. He was one of the program’s most energetic and enthusiastic staff members—and remains the only camper or counselor known to have lost a shoe in the frog pond. Maybe someday it will be found.

Why This Alumni Network Matters

The Kevin Chin Golf alumni network is part of what makes the program different. Students do not simply come for a lesson and leave. Many grow through the program over several years, return as counselors or assistants, and eventually become mentors for younger golfers.

That continuity creates a stronger junior golf environment at Lake Isle Country Club. Younger students see older students leading by example. Parents see a program built on trust, safety, responsibility, and long-term development. Former staff carry lessons from the program into college, golf careers, coaching, education, business, and community leadership.
